Build it Well, Install it Right, Enjoy True Peace of Mind
Underground shelters are serious business. As you begin to shop around for your options, be sure your choice is engineered to sustain the stresses your application will demand.
In your search for shelters, you will find that there are several different types available.
Fiberglass shelters are light, cheap, and easy to install. But they are not very robust and can easily fail in an event such as a serious tornado.
Concrete shelters sweat and often become moldy inside. Sometimes, concrete will crack and seep water.
The best long-term choice is clearly a well-engineered steel shelter. When coated properly, they are safe, long-lasting, and they stay dry inside.
There are cylindrical steel shelters out there that are as strong as ours, but most are more expensive and they all severely reduce the amount of useable space you have available inside, compared to our square-cornered shelters.
If you want a quality, practical shelter and you are looking for true peace of mind, you will find no better shelter on the market than a prefabricated steel Safecastle shelter. All our shelters are engineered to meet or exceed every applicable FEMA standard for shelters--to include being able to withstand winds of 330 mph.

We are introducing drive-in, above-ground storm shelters for those who need to be sure their vehicle survives. Be sure to inquire about these new 10-foot wide shelters.
Also, we are offering safety-glass windows (twice as thick as auto glass) in our storm shelters, with a metal door cover inside that you can close when the weather is truly severe.
We also now offer a standard 7'H x 6'W x 8'L above-ground storm shelter that is available on a lease to own basis. Just $2000 down, plus delivery charges ($1.85 per mile from Louisiana); then $189/month for 48 months. You must be the land owner where the shellter is installed and it must be installed where it can be moved if necessary.
Key Features of our Storm Shelters Note that our NBC / Fallout Shelters have added features that exceed these specs.
1. Made of 10 gauge steel and 3/16" plate metal. A prepackaged magnesium anode is installed under each shelter for cathodic protection of the shell of the shelter. This will mitigate corrosion of the shelter and add many years to the already long life expectancy of our shelters.
2. Double exterior coatings for flawless moisture protection.
3. A painted and carpeted interior.
4. A turbine vent keeps fresh air circulating through the shelter. Each is equipped with insect screens.
5. The door has two lift cylinders, handles, and heavy duty inside latches.
6. All shelters are designed with access for electrical connections and telephone line (to be installed by licensed contractor).
7. Our shelters are fire-proof ... a great place to store valuables.
8. Our storm shelters are equipped with regular steps and handrails.
9. Standard shelter sizes range from 5' x 5' x 8' to 7' x 40' x 100'. Any sizes are available upon request. We can also make any shelter 8' tall inside. In addition, we can install two or more shelters together, underground, with a passageway between them.
10. Safecastle shelters are excellent for hurricane-prone areas, excluding low-lying areas where flooding is possible.
Delivery charges for your shelter are based on the shelter size and mileage from our factory to your site. |
